Hello,
I have an issue with ducking: No matter what kind of setting I use, unducking happens very fast. It seems that it ramps up very quickly, I almost hear a click. What might be causing this?
Note: I am ducking music with 2-3 seconds long sfx. Ducking multiplier is 0.75. I tried all begin unduck settings to no avail.
Thanks.

If you are using the default "begin unduck" of .5, then (for a 2 second clip) the unducking will start 1 second after the clip starts playing and will finish when the clip is done playing. Note that unducking *always* finishes when the clip is done playing, regardless of when it starts unducking.
I tried your settings with a 1 second clip played at .5 pitch (so it's 2 seconds long) and didn't notice anything weird on my Standalone Scene that's included with MA. Ducking occurred at whatever percentage I specified. If you'd like to send me a sample project that reproduces the problem, I can take a look.

Thanks, I'll have another look, and if I can't make it I can send a sample.

All right, it seems to work in these settings: Ducking=0.9 || Unducking=1. Any lower ducking/unducking setting (even 0.8) seems to result in a brickwall transition.
I am not sure this is a problem only I have or how ducking works in MA. So I am sending you a scene sample. I would appreciate if you can have a look.
Thanks.

Ok I'll take a look. I know I don't have that problem and it's not supposed to "work" like that.

I'm possibly having the same issue. Although ducking appears to work as intended there is a sharp increase in volume once the sound finishes playing. Its painfully obvious. cuzer's advice to set begin unducking to 1 fixed it (or at least made it less obvious) for me, but I'm certain it shouldn't be doing this.
Did you determine anything else out about this issue?
Also as I am extremely new to this tool and sound in general are there any stupid newbie mistakes I might have made that would cause this?
Thank you.

The OP tried to send me a project but I was unable to download it (need a zip file probably), and he never responded to my request for one, so I've not been able to witness this problem. I've never seen this problem actually. So one of you will need to send me a project that reproduces the problem and I'll get to the bottom of it.
It can be an audio only project where I use the preview buttons to trigger the ducking.

Alright while making my test project I believe I have isolated what causes the bad behavior.
On the Master Audio Prefab there is a master playlist volume setting. When that is set to less than one ducking does not ramp as expected. It jumps immediately to the previous volume (or louder?) once the sound has completely finished playing. If master playlist volume is set to one I experience no problems and ducking works perfectly. Am I not supposed to touch the master playlist volume control?
I have replicated this in an empty project with only master audio prefabs as well. I can package this up and send it if you need it.

For me it appears to work fine regardless of that volume settings. I'm still not able to reproduce anything sounding weird with those instructions. Please send a sample project and I'll take a look.

Well it seems pretty consistent in this project but maybe i'm crazy.
I can't seem to compress it enough to attach to the message. How should I send it to you?

Put a zip file on Dropbox and send me the link. Or sign up for (free) a Filemail.com account and send it to my email address (brianh@darktonic.com).
