So when I click the Scan Project button everything hangs. I have examined the generated AudioImportSettings file (which is very large for me, as I have over 1000 sounds). Using XMLLint on this file has shown that there are a few illegal characters in my xml. I have included a screenshot of sublime text showing these characters (DLE symbol). Any idea what is causing this? The original filename is: Male41_UhHuh_JohnGallino but in sublimetext it generated this: name='Male41_Uh[DLE]Huh_JohnGallino' Hopefully you can solve this soon! I will try to delete the special characters and see if that works (but this will be annoying if I need to do this every time I add a sound effect) -Ben Attachments:

Yes, it is still happening. The update did not fix the problem. I just fixed the XML manually.

We need to know why the XML is malformed. Please delete the file, regenerate it and email it to support@darktonic.com so we can reproduce the problem. Or you could send us the file that's the problem and we'll scan it as part of the project.
No, we have no idea why [DLE] would be inserted in the XML, that's weird.
Thank you for reporting this!

Hi, we tried to reproduce the problem using your bad filename. Windows will not let us rename to that name: Male41_UhHuh_JohnGallino. When I paste that into notepad, I get a weird plus-looking symbol between Uh and Huh (not a plus though). That would be the problem. You will need to rename the file without the illegal character, as even if we fixed the filename in the XML, it wouldn't be able to find the file to apply settings if you wanted to change it with the Clip Manager. Still, we like to see what the XML file looks like so we can give a better message. Please sent it over when you get a chance. Or send the actual illegally named file.

I am also getting this error. I have over a thousand sounds in my project and the XML it creates is 1.1mb. I am using Unity 4.6 beta so I don't know if this is related. I can't send the attachment as it is over 1mb in size. I can however put the dropbox link to it below: dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7799729/audioImportSettings.xml

The link to that XML file isn't working for me. Please email it to support@darktonic.com. Or use filemail.com to send it to us.
Thank you!

I am also getting OnTriggerEnter2D only working intermittently too. I have them set on the objects I am collecting which is being collected successfully using my OnTriggerEnter2D in code, but the sound doesn't trigger no matter what I set the spawn mode two. But occasionally it does trigger.
I am trying to filter the Layer on the Player layer. If I don't to that it does always fire, but sometimes with the wrong event.

With this last post (triggerEnter2D), please start a different thread since it's unrelated to this Clip Manager issue. Thank you.

I figured out the problem with. The ampersands (&) in your folder names messed up the XML.
Replace this method in UtilsString.cs, and it should work. This will be in the next update.
public static string ReplaceUnsafeChars(string source) { source = source.Replace("'", "'"); source = source.Replace("\"", """); source = source.Replace("&", "&"); return source; }
