Hi,
I have a problem with my project that quite many of our sounds become almost inaudible when played through Master Audio. When i preview a sound sample directly through Unity they are loud enough to blast my ears off, but when i make a sound group of those samples and preview them through Master Audio in the inspector they are a lot quieter, and in the scene you can't usually hear them at all unless you mute all other sounds. I can usually get a bit more volume by tweaking the 3d settings of the audio source but almost never enough to make a difference thats big enough to let me hear the sound in game with music and other sounds playing(they do play VERY quietly).
What to do? =)

Yes, it's all because of the 3d settings. Most likely you're simply playing everything too far away from the Audio Listener in your Scene. Either move the listener closer to where the sounds are, or modify the 3d settings, or play the sounds "on" the objects instead of from the Master Audio prefab location.
