Hello from NZ!
Sporadic in edit mode, can't hear in play mode.
Using MA multiplayer; downloaded just today (couldn't find version).
I removed other audio sources from the scene (using built in MA finder dialog thing).
Sometimes in edit mode I hear robotic versions of the clips. Sometimes not. Havn't figured out a pattern yet.
Nothing in play mode at all.
I've setup a simple scene with two audio groups:
1) tree sounds
2) ocean sounds
I've added two ambient GO's+ scripts, referencing one of the groups each. These are 8m apart with slight overlap.
Intention was to test in editor, walking between the two areas.
This is an XR enabled project (not using OpenXR, just Oculus atm). I've not enabled the oculus spatializers.
When I play, I hear nothing.
I did a video; to show this and interestingly I DO head (albeit robotically) the audio in the video.
It seems to be unity is being stupid. ie: not playing audio in edit/play mode and/or playing it badly when it does.
Is this something you've seen? 2020.3.23f1.
Notes:
if I play the sounds directly from assets folder, they sound robotic. If I play the same files from explorer; via VLC, they are fine. They are .wav files.
I've included the video for reference, as you might be able to see some of my setup. Also, you'll get a good idea what I mean by "robotic".

I did actually speak during it. But the magical elves that are windows game capture decided not to include it.
Video:
- I show two amibent GO's.
- Breifly go over the audio groups.
- And then in play mode (remember I didn't hear anything while recording)... I move back and forth, and show both a mixer and MA.
Logging shows that the clips are being queued. And of course; in the recording I can hear them. But not in play mode,
tips welcome
