I have a main scene where master audio and other functionalities t need to be on that persistent scene. My question is: Is there a way where I can place the Event sound in an object in this main scene but the sound group loads with another scene without losing the references for the event?

Yes, because you can type in the name of the Sound Group into Event Sounds for Sound Groups not present in its Scene.

I've tried that but it finds nothing when in playmode... I don't know what I'm doing wrong

If it doesn't find it, then the Sound Group doesn't exist at runtime. To check, go look at the Sound Groups in Master Audio when you get the error.

Thank! the SoundGroup was on the Master Audio but It did'nt work until I overrided the prefab I was working on for some reason.
