I am currently storing references to the MasterAudioGroup(s) in the Inspector for my objects because I don't want to use the "PlaySound...()" methods in MasterAudio.cs since they all require a group name in string format.
What is the best way to play a (random, or otherwise) variation from a reference to a MasterAudioGroup instance?

Actually, now I got it to work by fetching the MasterAudioGroup name with the 'GameObjectName' property and then I'm passing that string to the MasterAudio.cs class.

I'm not sure why that's better. Please explain. You're still passing a string.
