I lurked the forum a bit, and consulted the manual, but all i saw about composite killables was about children who are destroyed before the parent (like in the example scene you provided).
I've got a reverse situation, a transporter (parent) with a box (child) representing a pickup in the game. When i destroy the transporter box (naturally) disappears too. But, with killable script i have the option "if parent destroyed". I set it to "do nothing", but the child disappears after destroying the parent anyway.
Any ideas?

That's to be expected, it's part of the same prefab. The whole prefab will despawn when the top-most Killable is destroyed. I would perhaps do this: make it actually 2 prefabs and make the pickup "follow" the transporter by changing to an offset position every frame. Then it won't die when the other does.
